The continent of South America mainly has deposits of important resources like iron ore, bauxite, manganese, copper, tin, nitrate, silver etc. Venezuela and the islands of Trinidad and Tobago are important for the production of mineral oil reserves. Copper is produced in Chile. In Chile there is a place called 'Chuquicamata'. It is world famous for the production of copper. That's why Chile is called 'Capital of Copper'.
दक्षिण अमेरिका के अटाकामा मरुस्थलीय क्षेत्र में वृहद् स्तर पर नाइट्रेट के विशाल भंडार उपलब्ध हैं। नाइट्रेट का उपयोग उर्वरक निर्माण करने में किया जाता है। बोलीविया का पठारी क्षेत्र टिन के भंडार से संपन्न है। इस कारण बोलीविया टिन उत्पादन में संसार के अग्रणी देशों में से एक है। ब्राज़ील में मैंगनीज़ का उत्पादन तथा गुयाना तथा सूरीनाम में बॉक्साइट का उत्पादन होता है।

The plateau region of Bolivia is endowed with tin deposits. For this reason Bolivia is one of the world's leading countries in tin production. Manganese is produced in Brazil and bauxite is produced in Guyana and Suriname.
