दक्षिण अमेरिका की महत्वपूर्ण झीलें, मरुस्थल एवं उच्चभूमि | Important Lakes, Deserts and Highlands of South America
टिटिकाका झील- यह झील दक्षिण अमेरिका के बोलिविया और पेरू के मध्य स्थित है। इस झील के तट पर 'ला-पाज़' नामक शहर अवस्थित है। यह बोलीविया की राजधानी है। इस झील की अनूठी विशेषता है कि यह संसार के सबसे ऊँची नौगम्य झील है।
Lake of Titicaca- This lake is located between Bolivia and Peru in South America. On the shores of this lake lies a city called 'La Paz'. It is the capital of Bolivia. The unique feature of this lake is that it is the highest navigable lake in the world.
पोपो झील- यह झील दक्षिण अमेरिका के बोलिविया में अवस्थित है। यह झील अंतरापर्वतीय पठार पर अवस्थित है।
Lake Popo- This lake is located in Bolivia, South America. This lake is situated on an intermountain plateau.
मराकैबो झील- यह झील वेनेज़ुएला के उत्तर में अवस्थित है। यह दक्षिण अमेरिका की सबसे बड़ी झील है। यह विश्व में तेल उत्पादन के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
Maracaibo Lake- This lake is located in the north of Venezuela. It is the largest lake in South America. It is world famous for oil production.
पेटागोनिया मरुस्थल- यह एक शोतोष्ण मरुस्थल है। यह एंडीज़ पर्वतमाला के वृष्टि छाया प्रदेश में अवस्थित है। यहाँ पर पशुपालन के लिए अनुकूल दशाएँ उपलब्ध हैं।
Patagonia Desert- It is a temperate desert. It is located in the rain shadow region of the Andes ranges. Here favorable conditions are available for animal husbandry.
अटाकामा मरुस्थल- यह विश्व का सबसे शुष्कतम मरुस्थल है। यह उत्तरी चिली और दक्षिणी पेरू में अवस्थित है। यह मरुस्थलीय क्षेत्र तांबा, नाइट्रेट और सल्फर की उपलब्धता के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। इस क्षेत्र में संसार का सबसे बड़ा नाइट्रेट भंडार पाया जाता है।
Atacama Desert- This is the driest desert in the world. It is located in northern Chile and southern Peru. This desert region is famous for the availability of copper, nitrate and sulphur. The world's largest nitrate reserves are found in this area.
गुयाना उच्चभूमि- इस उच्चभूमि का विस्तार वेनेज़ुएला से लेकर पूर्व में फ्रेंच गुयाना तथा दक्षिण में ब्राजील तक है। इस उच्चभूमि पर एंजेल जलप्रपात अवस्थित है। ओरिनोको नदी इसी उच्च भूमि से संबंधित है।
Guyana Highlands- This highland extends from Venezuela to French Guiana in the east and Brazil in the south. Angel Falls is situated on this high ground. The Orinoco River belongs to this high ground.
बोलीविया उच्चभूमि- यह उच्चभूमि बोलिविया में अवस्थित है। इस उच्चभूमि में बोलिविया की राजधानी 'ला-पाज़' स्थित है। इसके अलावा टिटिकाका झील भी यहीं पर स्थित है। यह उच्चभूमि टिन के भंडार और उत्पादन की दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण है।
Bolivia Highlands - This highland is located in Bolivia. In this highland lies the capital of Bolivia 'La-Paz'. Apart from this, Lake Titicaca is also located here. This highland is important from the point of view of tin deposits and production.
ब्राज़ीलियन उच्चभूमि- यह ब्राज़ील की उच्चभूमि है। यहाँ पर 'इताबिरा' नामक लौह अयस्क उत्पादन का एक प्रमुख केंद्र है। इस उच्च भूमि में वृहद् स्तर पर लौह अयस्क के भंडार उपलब्ध हैं। इसके अलावा यह उच्चभूमि कॉफी के उत्पादन की दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण है।
Brazilian Highlands- This is the Brazilian highlands. There is a major center of iron ore production called 'Itabira'. Large deposits of iron ore are available in this high land. In addition it is important for the production of highland coffee.
